Kids' Book Of Hockey Skills Strategies Equipment and the Rules of the Game John Sias 9780806519210 Books Reviews

  • I'm fairly surprised this book has such a high rating. It's a book about the NHL or College game from 20 years ago. For a Kid (and parent), expecting a book to address the topics from the title "Kids' Book Of Hockey Skills, Strategies, Equipment, and the Rules of the Game", this is an awful book.

90% of the content is about watching the pro game and the history of the pro game, provided in an uninteresting series of random questions and answers. If your child actually PLAYS hockey, the book is worthless. There's very little here that is appropriate for youth hockey.

Especially misleading is the picture of the kid playing pond hockey.
  • My son is a ten year old hockey player. Loves the book. Did not put it down. Read it several times. It is written for that age group, and in an entertaining way. He is now re-reading it. Good book.
  • Good instruction.
  • We needed the rules and techniques so we could work with our 8 year old hockey player. Was looking for a street hockey book but none seem to exist. this was the best [skating] I could find. Basic rules.
  • Bought this for my 10 year old grandson who loves hockey. There is a lot of information that can be overwhelming but can also be a valuable tool. Was a reasonable price and speedy delivery.
  • They like to read things they are interested in.
  • This is a wonderful hockey book for kids and adults new to hockey. Well laid-out with interesting facts sure to hook any hockey enthusiast. A must read!
  • This book has much good information in it, explained simply, easy to understand.
